A wide selection of designer and independent frames, measured properly and fitted in person before you take them home.
Buying glasses well is part prescription and part fit. The lenses have to be correct, but the frame also has to sit where it was designed to sit, hold its position through a full day, and put the optical center of the lens in front of your pupil. That is the part that is difficult to get right without someone measuring it in person.
We start with your prescription and how you actually use your eyes: the hours you spend at a screen, whether you drive at night, whether you read on paper or a phone, and what has bothered you about previous pairs. That conversation usually narrows the lens choice long before anyone starts looking at frames.
From there it is a matter of finding frames you like among the ones that suit your prescription and your face, checking the measurements, and ordering. When the glasses arrive we fit them on you, adjust them, and show you what to expect during the first week of wear. Adjustments after that are part of the service, not an extra visit.
Our opticians know which frames work with which prescriptions, and which shapes hold up on which faces. Rather than leaving you to browse alone, we narrow the wall down to a realistic short list and let you compare them side by side in the mirror.
Pupillary distance, fitting height, vertex distance, and frame wrap are all measured on your face with the frame you chose. Estimated measurements are the most common reason a technically correct prescription still feels wrong once it is in a lens.
Single vision, progressive, or task-specific lenses each behave differently, and so do the materials and coatings. We explain the practical trade-offs in plain terms — thickness, weight, glare, durability, cost — so the choice is yours rather than a default.
If you drive a lot, spend time on the water, or are sensitive to glare, we go through tints, polarization, and light-reactive lenses and what each one is genuinely good at. Coastal light is a real factor here, and it is worth planning for rather than working around.
Frames and lenses come with manufacturer warranties, and we handle the paperwork if something fails. If your prescription needs adjusting shortly after a new pair, tell us — we would rather sort it out than have you quietly stop wearing them.
We fit and adjust the glasses when you collect them, and again whenever they loosen or shift. Nose pads, temple curves, and screws are all part of ongoing care, and there is no charge for adjusting a pair you bought from us.
New glasses help most when something specific has changed. If any of the situations below sounds familiar, bring your current pair and your most recent prescription and we will work from there.
We confirm your prescription is current and appropriate for what you want the glasses to do. If it is more than a year or two old, or your vision has changed since, an exam comes first so the lenses are built on accurate numbers rather than old ones.
We talk through your day: screen hours and working distances, driving, reading, hobbies, and what frustrated you about your last pair. This is what determines lens type and material, and it usually rules out several options before you look at a single frame.
An optician pulls frames that suit your prescription, your features, and your budget, then narrows them with you at the mirror. You can compare a short list rather than the entire wall, and we will tell you honestly when a frame will not work with your lenses.
With the frame on your face we take the measurements the lab needs, review your lens and coating choices, confirm pricing against your benefits, and place the order. You leave knowing what you are getting, what it costs, and roughly when it will be ready.
When the glasses arrive we check the lenses against the order, fit them on you, and adjust the frame until it sits correctly. We explain what the first few days should feel like and what is worth coming back for, then adjust again whenever it is needed.
Bring your current prescription and browse the wall with an optician — no appointment needed.
Every pair is measured with the chosen frame in position rather than from a chart or an average. Pupillary distance and fitting height decide where the optical center of the lens lands, and small errors there are what make a correct prescription feel off. This matters most with progressive lenses, where a few millimeters change the width of the corridor you actually see through. Taking the measurements properly costs a few extra minutes at the counter and saves a remake later.
Glasses shift with wear. Temples relax, nose pads move, hinges loosen, and a frame that fit perfectly in March can sit low by June. We fit your glasses when you collect them, and we expect to see you again for adjustments as they settle. There is no charge for adjusting a pair bought here, and you do not need an appointment — walk in, and we will get them sitting where they belong while you wait.
We accept VSP, EyeMed, Heritage, Blue Shield, and Medicare. We verify your benefits before you order so you know your frame and lens allowance, what it applies to, and what you will owe out of pocket. Out-of-network patients are welcome and receive itemized paperwork for reimbursement.
Our front desk confirms your frame allowance, lens coverage, and any copay with your carrier before the order is placed, and tells you the out-of-pocket total in advance. Upgrades such as thinner materials or premium coatings are quoted separately so nothing is a surprise at pickup. Questions about a statement? Call (310) 305-2950 and ask for the front desk.

Yes, as long as it is current and complete. Bring the written prescription with you, including the pupillary distance if it was measured, and we will confirm it covers what you want the glasses to do. If it is older than a couple of years or your vision has changed since it was written, we will suggest an exam first so the lenses are made from accurate numbers.
Most orders come back within one to two weeks, depending on the lens type and whether the frame is in stock. Simple single-vision lenses are usually quickest; progressives, specialty coatings, and unusual prescriptions take longer because the lab work is more involved. We give you a realistic estimate when you order and call you as soon as the glasses arrive.
We carry a wide range, from independent labels to well-known designer names, and there are options at several price points. Tell the optician what you would like to spend at the start and they will pull frames within that range rather than showing you something that does not fit the budget. Lens choices also affect the total, and we go through those separately.
Many patients find a dedicated pair useful — computer glasses for long screen days, prescription sunglasses for driving and time on the water, or a spare in the car. A second pair is not necessary for everyone, but if your day includes a specific demanding task, a lens set up for that distance often works better than asking one pair to do everything.
Most people adapt within a couple of weeks, and accurate measurements make a noticeable difference to how easy that is. Expect a short period of learning where to look for near and distance work. Wear them consistently during that time rather than switching back and forth, and come in if something still feels wrong after two weeks so we can check the fit.
Often yes, provided the frame is in good condition and can survive the lenses being removed and replaced. Bring it in and we will look at the material, the hinges, and any existing stress marks before advising. If we think the frame is likely to crack during glazing, we will say so up front rather than risking a frame you like.
Come back. New glasses can feel unfamiliar for a few days, but genuinely wrong is different from unfamiliar, and we would rather check them than have you stop wearing them. We will verify the lenses against the order, re-check the measurements and fit, and sort out whatever is off. If a remake is needed, we handle it.
Yes. Adjustments to a pair bought here are included for as long as you wear them, and you do not need an appointment. We also handle screws, nose pads, and temple tips, and can order replacement parts for most frames we sell. If a repair is beyond a bench fix, we will tell you what the realistic options are.
Browse the wall with an optician or book an exam first. Either way, we will make sure the fit is right.
